Amazing pictures! You really have an eye for details. What impressed me most were the traces of bitumen that are still visible – I had no idea.
I’m still looking forward to reading Part II about your Babylon experience though…
I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed reading your posts over these past several months. As an archaeologist, I can honestly say that Alexander has always been my hero. To trace his incredible journey on foot, especially in an area filled with such political strife, is a remarkable feat and one that surely would impress even the Macedonian king himself. If you’ve got more of the Babylon visit to tell, I’d love to hear it. The best of luck in your next endeavor!
